What if the meaning I think my life has isn’t real?

If all my life is just a sham
  Each other soul an actor
Would that fact change me? Who I am?
  Is truth a major factor?

The meaning I have seen to date,
  The ends for which I’ve striven,
Though true, though false, I feel to state
  The same thoughts they’d have driven.
