Pessimism can lead to depression or joy.
When I was young I wasn’t old
And that I fear made me too bold
For I knew not then wisdom’s way
And had no caution in my play.
When I was old I wasn’t young
And left my heart’s songs oft unsung
For I forgot then childrens’ joys
And saw just clutter in their toys.
There was no golden age, I fear,
Nor future bright soon coming:
Both past and future hold a tear,
Let’s pray we find a numbing.
When I was young I wasn’t old
And that I fear made me too bold
For I knew not then wisdom’s way
And had no caution in my play.
When I was old I wasn’t young
And left my heart’s songs oft unsung
For I forgot then childrens’ joys
And saw just clutter in their toys.
This is the pinnacle of time,
For gladness take a stand:
The present beauties are sublime,
The now is truly grand!
