The Parable of the Pounds
Two authors of the Gospels wrote a parable well known Where servants each got coins and time (the coins were not their own); And when the master came again, the cautious man was razed, While those who had been risky were rewarded and much praised.
No parable is perfect; that I understand, of course; But damning caution never seemed a laudatory course. At least in Luke’s account, the servants started on fair ground; I wonder why I hear the talent far more than than the pound?
