Vision: 20 points
- The vision statement should describe the scope of the project --
what it is going to do, how it is going to do it, etc. Using
buzzwords, platitudes, or other insincere aspects will not get many
points here.
Use cases: 40 points
- There should be about 6 or so pages of use cases. Ideally, 2
fully dressed use cases of 3-4 pages each. But if their use cases
are shorter, they can include more of them. The fully dressed use
cases should show all possible paths through that part of the system.
The brief use cases should show some thought into what the final
implementation of the final system.
- Fully dressed use cases, to a large extent, should be detailed. That
is if in the fully dressed use cases, specifics about paths the system
goes through are not detailed, points will be taken off. The number of
points taken away will depend on the number of instances that could have
been detailed and have not been detailed enough.
Supplementary specification: 20 points
- This varies for each project. It has to list some aspects that are
of relevance in addition to those explained in the use cases.
Actors: 10 points
- It may be that the only actor involved in the system is the human
actor, which is fine. They can also use parts of the computer (AI
routines, etc.) as an actor of sorts -- this is fine too.
Basically, if they put any thought into this part, give them the 10
points.
Miscellaneous: 10 points
- They need to clearly explain how they expect to expand or shrink the
scope of the project.
