Submission Information and Other Guidelines
for Papers, Workshops, Panels and Tutorials

This page contains information how to submit a paper or propose other types of activities. You can find the information you need by paging-down on clicking on one of the following quick-links. If you have questions that are not answered on this page, send email to cseet04@cs.virginia.edu or directly to the Program Chair.

Paper Proposals:

You are invited to submit research papers or experience reports in areas of software engineering education and training described in the call for papers. Papers will be presented in parallel sessions, with approximately 30 minutes allowed for each paper's presentation. One of the paper's authors will be expected to register for the conference and present the paper there. Full text of the papers will be published in the conference proceedings.

Page Limit and Formatting Guidelines.
The page-limit for submitted papers is 6 pages (including references). We request you use the font size, margin settings, and basic layout specifications given in the IEEE Computer Society Press guidelines that were used to publish last year's proceedings. (Authors of accepted papers should therefore have little to change when IEEE CS gives us this year's guidelines.) Guidelines are here in PDF format, Word format, and HTML.

By September 8, please send all submissions to cseet04@cs.virginia.edu using PDF format (or Word or Postscript if that is not possible). Use a subject line "CSEET04-PAPER" on your email. All submissions will be acknowledged; if you do not receive an acknowledgment by the deadline date, please send an inquiry to the same address.

Proposals for Workshops:

The conference will include workshops designed to provide a forum for a group of workshop participants to exchange experiences and opinions on topics related to the conference theme. Workshops may have a particular goal, such as to produce some kind of particular outcome (e.g. a report or a plan of action). We will consider proposals for workshop sessions that are 90 minutes, half-day, or full-day.

By August 4th, please submit proposals for workshops by sending email to cseet04@cs.virginia.edu. Use a subject line of "CSEET04-WORKSHOP" for this email. Include a description of the proposed workshop and any proposed outcomes, as well as a list of the names and affiliations of the workshop leaders who would participate. Indicate if this would be a 90-minute or a half-day workshop. All submissions will be acknowledged; if you do not receive an acknowledgment by the deadline date, please send an inquiry to the same address.

Proposals for workshops will be reviewed by the program committee, and the organizers will receive notice on whether or not their workshop has been accepted by August 18. On this date information on the workshop will be posted on the conference Web site.

Participating in a Workshop:

Conference attendees who wish to participate will be asked to submit a brief position paper by September 8. Send email with your position statement to cseet04@cs.virginia.edu. Use a subject line of "CSEET04-WORKSHOP-POSITION" for this email. Attendees will receive a confirmation for this participation by the acceptance deadline of November 3.
