Friday Poem

A swan has lost its larder.

Untitled Poem

A large white swan
found his larder gone
when he came for a bite this morn,
Thus he did not eat
his accustomed meat,
  leaving his fine belly forlorn.
Where can larders go?
Hungry swans don’t know;
  a cellar immovable seems.
But this swan now sends
word to all his friends,
  and they’re forming searching teams.
If today you see
swans in groups of three
know its larders they’re looking for,
And their honking cry
is them asking “‍why
can’t we find that cellar door?‍”
