Required Games Quest

For this class, you are required to play two different games that we will analyze throughout the semester.

A Short Hike by adamgryu	Portal by Valve

Objective: Complete the main story of the game	Objective: Complete through test chamber 18

A note on Portal

Some of the humor in Portal can be a bit dark, but both it and Portal 2 are consistently rated among the top games of all time. In all honesty, I’ve been playing with the sound off while putting my son to bed, so I’d forgotten most of the dialogue. However more recently, I’ve been playing with the sound on. The game play is phenomenal, so I’d encourage playing with the sound off if you would prefer to avoid the dark humor.

Ending: Note that we’re only asking you to play the test chambers (through 18). Things change after that and it gets a lot darker, becomes more fast paced, and requires a lot of quick movement.

Lastly, if you start playing Portal and decide you would prefer to play a different game, that’s no problem! Come chat with me and I’ll share some excellent similar games.

No submission required specifically for playing the games, but you need to complete them before the Mini-Boss Battle.
